Health Ministry directs hospitals to halt elective surgeries and OPD services prioritizing corona treatment

April 27, Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health has directed all the hospitals across the country to halt OPD services and elective surgeries prioritizing corona treatment.

The Ministry also directed the hospitals to arrange essential medical equipment and oxygen for emergency services.

A meeting of the Ministry’s Health Emergency Work Operation Center held on Tuesday, asked the hospitals not to approve health worker’s leave for a long period and call back the health workers who are on leave.

Likewise, the Ministry has also asked the hospitals to provide medical services with 50 percentage of the manpower in sift basis and recruit health workers if needed.

The Health Ministry also warned the PCR test labs not to charge more than the charge fixed by the government.
