Prez and Vice-Prez congratulate their American counterparts, stress on stronger bilateral relations
January 21, Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has congratulated Joe Biden on assuming the office as the 46th President of the United States of America.
Stating that the bilateral relations between the two countries were excellent, President Bhandari expressed her confidence that the rich and multi-faceted Nepal-US relations would continue to deepen and expand during the tenure of President Biden
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, President Bhandari also lauded America’s cooperation in the socio-economic development of Nepal.
Similarly, Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has also extended congratulations to American Vice-President Kamala Harris for assuming the office.
Vice-President Pun on Thursday expressed appreciation to new US administration for prioritizing pertinent issues such as gender equality, social justice, and climate change.
American President Joe Biden assumed the office on Wednesday. His running mate Vice-President- Kamala Harris also took the oath of office alongside Biden.
She is the first woman to hold the post of Vice-Presidency in more than 300 years of American history.
