Mt. Everest’s height set at 8848.86 meters (Photo feature)

Kathmandu- The height of Mt. Everest has increased by 86 centimetres, with the new height ascertained at 8848.86 meters.

The Governments of Nepal and China jointly announced the new official height of Mt, Everest on Tuesday.

Nepal for the first time measured the height of Mt. Everest with its own means and resources.

During the Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Nepal last year,  Nepal and China had made an agreement to jointly announce the height of Mt Everest.
