Washing hands pivotal to prevent various diseases : Prez. Bhandari

Kathmandu-  Global Handwashing Day is being marked all over the world including Nepal on Thursday.

Meanwhile, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said it is imperative to make people aware of handwashing to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Giving a message of best wishes, President Bhandari reminded that even the research showed that proper handwashing for 20 seconds could help prevent a person from various diseases such as Covid-19, Hepatitis, Ebola , and reduce respiratory problem , pneumonia and diarrhea.

The President said, “Hand hygiene is therefore an effective tool to reduce the infection of coronavirus at present”.

Nepal has been observing Global Handwashing Day since 2008. The theme for this year is “Hand hygiene for All”.
