Cultural Corporation Chairman Adhikari commits to promoting arts, culture

Kathmandu : Newly appointed Chairman of the Cultural Corporation (Rastriya Nachghar), Premnath Adhikari and General Manager Ashok Pyasi Rai have said they would commit to making the Corporation more professional and dynamic.

Assuming the office at Jamal on Monday, they viewed they would work in unison to develop the Corporation as the centre of arts and culture in the country.

“When a foreigner wants to know about Nepal’s culture after he/she arrives in Nepal, he/she would be suggested to visit the Corporation in order to learn thoroughly about Nepali culture. Development to this sector will be prioritized accordingly,” he stressed.

The facilities at the Corporation would be improved soon, he added.

The Chairman and General Manager are appointed for four years’ term. They were received by Officiating General Manager Prabhakar Sharma and the employees.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli congratulated the newly appointed Chairman over telephone on Monday itself. He directed the new Chairman to make the institutions further dynamic.

The Rastriya Nachghar was built in 2016BS to promote and protect Nepali drama, music, and dance, which was formally established in 2018BS. It was renamed as Cultural Corporation after the introduction of Communications Corporation Act in 2029 BS.
