Proposal of public importance registered in National Assembly
July 18, Kathmandu : Lawmakers of the opposition parties have registered a proposal of public importance in the National Assembly, the Upper House of the Federal Parliament, saying the House should acquire information on relief and rescue activities at flood, landslide and inundated areas, and give necessary direction to the government.
The lawmakers of opposition parties registered the proposal reasoning that the House should acquire information about rescue and relief activities carried out by three-tier government, different political parties and organisations in the wake of the incessant rainfall last week across the country causing a big loss of lives and property and that the House give necessary direction to resume obstructed services as well as to carry out rescue and relief operation.
Nepali Congress lawmaker Radhe Shyam Adhikari registered the proposal while Brishesh Chandra Lal of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and Badri Prasad Pandey of Nepali Congress seconded it. They notified the house to hold discussion on public importance issue as per Rule 66 of the National Assembly Regulation, 2075.
