EC urges election officers to complete vote counts at the earliest
Kathmandu: The Election Commission has directed the returning and election officers to mobilize maximum numbers of teams in counting votes and complete the voting count at the earliest.
Addressing a press meeting at the commission’s central office on Thursday, Spokesperson of the commission Shaligram Sharma Poudel said the commission had urged election officers to complete the vote count by Friday.
However, due to various reasons, the counting is yet complete and the commission has urged the officers again to complete the work quickly.
The tenure of the incumbent local body elected officials expires on Thursday.
The commission has also asked the election officers to complete the vote count of the reelection within four days.
The commission is also set to hold an election at Sanfebagar tomorrow as the election was halted on the prescheduled date.
Likewise, the election date for Truyuga 12 of Udayapur and Budhiganda municipality of Bajura is yet to be confirmed.
The election commission has also reminded the elected representatives about the formation of the executive body in the local government as per the fixed parameters.
The commission has also reminded the elected representative about the legal provisions for taking oaths before starting their official responsibilities.
