Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya urges political parties to prioritise women’s candidacies in local level elections

Kathamndu: Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya has urged the political parties to prioritise women’s candidacies in the upcoming local level elections.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya reminded that each political party should allocate 50 per cent of the total number of candidacies in the elections.

He also said the limitation of election expenditure of the political parties had been fixed to make the local level election economical.
