Government will expand media hubs in all seven provinces: Communication Minister Karki

Biratnagar: Minister for Communication and Information and Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Kari has said the government will expand media hubs in all seven provinces for promoting information and technology in Nepal.

Inaugurating the Tarani Prasad Koirala Memorial Media Hub in Biratnagar on Friday evening, Minister Karki also announced the beginning of the broadcasting service of Metro FM 103 megahertz.

The FM began its service in collaboration with Radio Nepal and Biratnagar metropolitan city.

Likewise, Communication Secretary Dr Baikunda Aryal pledged to extend policy-level support to the media hub.

Addressing the Inauguration Ceremony, Executive Director of Radio Nepal Buddhi Bahadur KC said that the media hub would help achieve another milestone in the information and technology sector of the country.

Executive Director KC further said the services related to the radio transmitter, FM transmitter, E-library, music studio, and conference hall among others would be provided from the media hub.

Then-Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had laid the foundation stone for the Tarani Prasad Koirala Memorial Media Hub.
