Confucius Institue and Bal Uddhar sign agreement to include Chinese language in curriculum

March 23, Kathmandu: The Confucius Institute of Tribhuvan University and Bal Uddhar Secondary School, Kapan have agreed to include the teaching of the Chinese language in the curriculum from the next academic session.
The agreement to this effect was signed during an event on Monday
Speaking at the event, the Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality Uddhav Prasad Kharel said that the teaching of the Chinese language would provide an opportunity for the students to learn about Chinese culture and civilization as well as help the students to better acknowledge China’s development.
Mayor Kharel said that learning the Chinese language would also help the students to get scholarships for higher education in China.
Also speaking during the program, the Chief of the international cooperation department of the University of East China and Director at the Confucius Institute of Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr Liu Yueming said that the agreement to teach the Chinese language was made possible by the relentless efforts of the Chairman of the Management Committee, Dhruva Prasad Ghimire, adding that teaching the Chinese language to students would help in solidifying the people to people’s relations between Nepal and China.
Prof. Dr Yueming said that hardworking students who mastered the Chinese language would also get the opportunity to pursue higher studies in China.
Chairman of the School Management Committee, Dhruva Prasad Ghimire, said that learning the Chinese language would open new doors of opportunity for the students.
