Bagmati province economic survey presented at assembly meeting

Kathmandu: The 10th session of the Bagmati Province Assembly concluded. Several reports, including Province Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2078-79 were presented at today’s meeting of the provincial assembly. On the occasion, Chief Minister Rajendra Prasad Pandey presented the Annual Report of the Province Public Service Commission of the 2077-78 BS.

Likewise, Province Affairs Committee President Madhav Poudel, Finance and Development Committee President Narayan Bahadur Silwal, Education, Health and Agriculture Committee President Keshab Prasad Pokharel and Industry, Tourism and Environment Committee President Ram Ale had presented their respective reports.

Likewise, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Shalikram Jamakattel presented the economic survey for the fiscal year 2078-79 in the meeting. While presenting the economic survey, Minister Jamakattel said out of the country’s estimated Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Rs 4851 billion and 620 million in the fiscal year 2022-23, Bagmati Province will contribute the highest share of 1790 billion 680 million (36.9 per cent).

Similarly, the Bagmati Province has an estimated GDP contribution of Rs 1790 billion and 680 million in the fiscal year 2022-23. Minister Janakattel further informed that the province’s economic growth rate is estimated to be 6.60 per cent in the coming fiscal year.

Speaker Sanu Kuamr Shrestha informed the house that the next meeting of the province assembly shall take place at 4.00 pm on June 15 (Wednesday). The province government is unveiling the budget for the next fiscal year 2022-23 on June 15
