President Bhandari stresses on producing awareness-spreading films 

Kathamndu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has lauded the role of the film industry for positive social change in the country.

Addressing a special ceremony organized by the Film Development Board at Sheetal Niwas on Sunday, President Bhandari said films could be an effective medium to set examples of civilized society.

Saying films could help inculcate the feelings of nationalism in citizens, President Bhandari urged the cinema community to bring out films making aware and motivating people positively.

She also asked the film development board to develop film cities across the country bringing in films shooters across the world to the country. 

Also addressing the program, Communication Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki pledged the ministry’s full support to the film industry.  

On the occasion, various artists including the first Nepali female actor Bhuan Chand and senior music composer Sambhujit Baskota were decorated with various awards and honours.
