Nepal gets India’s consent for exporting additional 325 Megawatt of electricity to Indian market

April 6, Kathmandu: Nepal has received consent to export an additional 3 hundred 25 Megawatt of electricity to the Indian Market.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the Minister for Energy, Water Resource, and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal, said the ‘Nepal-India Joint Vision Statement on Power Sector Co-operation’ reached between the Prime Ministers of Nepal and India had entered the implementation phase following the consent from the Indian side.
Earlier, Nepal had received consent to export 39 Megawatt of electricity to the Indian market.
Minister Bhushal believed that Nepal’s imbalanced trade deficit would reduce once the export of electricity to the Indian market begins. The Minister also said Nepal would also export electricity to Bangladesh.
