Book titled “Buddhism and Buddhist Heritage in Pakistan” unveiled

March 31, Kathmandu: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu on Thursday unveiled a book on Pakistan’s Buddhist heritage titled “Buddhism and Buddhist Heritage in Pakistan”. The book has been authored by Om Charan Amatya.

Addressing the event, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Syed Haider Shah, highlighted the significance of cultural and historical linkages in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Nepal.

Also speaking during the occasion, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Bidya Sundar Shakya, highlighted the significance of cultural heritage as an important facet of people-to-people contact.

The Minister for Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale, was the chief guest at the book launch event.

Special Guests at the occasion included the Secretary-General SAARC Secretariat Kathmandu Esala Ruwan Weerakoon, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal Himalee Arunatilaka, the Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal Vosita Vorasaph, the Ambassador of Myanmar to Nepal Sein Oo, and the Vice-Chancellor, Lumbini Buddhist University Prof. Dr Haridaya Ratna Bajracharya among other Buddhist scholars.
