Nepal and India border security meeting to begin in Pokhara from today

November 20: The meeting of the Nepal and India border security forces will begin from today.

Representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Nepal will be taking part in the three-day meeting while India’s Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)’s high-ranking officials will represent India in the meeting, Armed Police Force’s Deputy Director General (DIG) Baburam Pandey said.

Inspector General of Nepal Police Shailendra Khanal will lead the Nepali team while Sashastra Seema Bal’ Director General Rajesh chandra-led Indian team will deliberate on wide range of security concerns in the bordering areas such as curbing cross-border crimes, joint patrol and tackling illegal smuggling among others, informed DIG Pandey.

Nepal will have a 10-member team while India has 6 members for the annual meeting.
