National Education Policy 2019 enforced

Kathmandu, Nov. 7: The government has enforced National Education Policy 2019 from today.

Speaking at a press meet organized at the Ministry of Education, Science and technology, Minister Giri Raj Mani Prokhrel said the new education policy has been brought forth to give a new direction of the entire educational system in the country.

Minister Pokhrel also said that the new education policy formulated as per the recommendation of the High-Level Nation Education Commission was approved by the cabinet on November 4.

Meantime, Minister Pokhrel added that the ministry has initiated to work of preparing the preliminary draft of National Education bill, Higher Education bill, Technical and Vocational Education bill has started from today itself as per the directive of the National Education Policy.

Minister Pokhrel informed if the academic institutions running with foreign organization affiliation are given 15 days’ time to come into the system. Otherwise, they will be squashed.

The Minister said the National Education policy has aimed to make the education of the country more competitive, techno-friendly,  employment-generating and production-oriented so that national needs are addressed.
