Congress awakening campaign comes to a close
Kathmandu, June 8: The first phase of the Nepali Congress National Awakening Campaign has concluded today. The campaign had begun on May 8. During the campaign, central leaders visited all the 77 districts.
On the occasion, the majority of the local cadres in the district have suggested for unity among senior leaders. They also suggested for making the merit based evaluation of leaders and cadres of the party.
The major objective of the campaign was to inform people at the local level about the policy and programmes and the amended statute endorsed by the party’s General Committee.
According to the party spokesperson Biswa Prakash Sharma, the campaign will be organised in three phases throughout this year and will end on January 1, 2020, on national reconciliation day.
On the final day of the awakening campaign, addressing a programme in Janakpurdham today, Nepali Congress Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi said that the campaign has boosted morale of the cadres.
Likewise, today itself, Nepali Congress Leaders echoed leader Nidhi and stressed on the need of bolstering organization in the village level. Leader Sing also said that the government has been creating illusion by changing names of the achievement gained under Nepali Congress leadership.
