Home Minister Gurung offers prayers at Janaki Temple as normality gradually returns to Tarai-Madhesh
Janakpurdham: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung today offered prayers at Janaki Temple and other temples in Janakpurdham after successful talks with the Joint Hindu Front helped ease tensions in Tarai-Madhesh.
The minister visited Janaki Temple, Ram Temple and Rajdevi Temple this morning, where he offered prayers and received tika and prasad.

His visit came a day after the government and the Joint Hindu Front reached a 13-point agreement in Janakpurdham, leading to the suspension of all protest programmes.
In recent days, Home Minister Gurung had held talks with victims and representatives of protesting groups in Sunsari, Siraha and Janakpurdham following communal tensions that spread across Koshi and Madhesh provinces after the Sunsari incident.
Following the agreement, the security situation has improved in the affected districts of Madhesh Province. Markets have begun reopening and normal life is gradually returning.
However, prohibitory orders remain in force in some areas. Public gatherings of more than five people, rallies, meetings and demonstrations are still prohibited, and public movement in Janakpurdham remains limited.
