Madhesh Province govt pledges support for RSS development: Minister Yadav
Rajbiraj (Saptari), Jan 24: Madhesh Province Finance Minister Mahesh Prasad Yadav has reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to supporting the overall development of the country’s national news agency, the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS).
During a meeting held here on Friday with RSS Executive Chairman Dharmendra Jha, Minister Yadav said the province government would identify the agency’s needs and work towards allocating the required budget. He called for cooperation and coordination from all concerned, describing RSS as a credible and official news agency of the state.
RSS Executive Chairman Jha welcomed the assurance, stating that RSS is ready to collaborate closely with provincial and local governments. He stressed the need to build a positive public perception of the institution and expressed confidence in continued support for its institutional strengthening.
On the same day, Chairman Jha inspected the RSS district office at Kultupokhari in Rajbiraj Municipality–3, Saptari. During the visit, he said positive initiatives are underway to secure financial assistance from both local and provincial governments to upgrade the office.
Meanwhile, Lahan Municipality Mayor Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary also expressed readiness to support RSS. In a separate meeting with Chairman Jha, the mayor committed to providing all possible assistance, including allocating a budget for the renovation of the agency’s dilapidated building.
Chairman Jha highlighted the important role of local governments in protecting and developing RSS, calling it a shared institution of the state. He thanked Mayor Chaudhary for Lahan Municipality’s allocation of Rs 500,000 for the construction of a boundary wall and the upgrading of the RSS office building in Lahan.
