NOC Raises Fuel Prices Effective Midnight
Kathmandu, March 15 — Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petroleum products, with the new rates coming into effect from midnight on Sunday.
According to the state-owned fuel supplier, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 15 per litre, while diesel and kerosene prices have gone up by Rs 10 per litre.
Following the adjustment, consumers in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal will now pay Rs 172 per litre for petrol and Rs 152 per litre for diesel and kerosene.
In a statement issued on Sunday evening, NOC said the price revision was necessary after the latest fuel supplies purchased from Indian Oil Corporation came at higher rates.
The corporation added that the sharp rise in petroleum prices in the international market has created a challenging situation, and it sought continued understanding and support from consumers.
