Home Minister visits riverside areas to check on situation

Kathmandu: The water level has risen in major rivers and streams like Bagmati, Bishnumati, and Manohara in the Kathmandu Valley due to the incessant rain.

Security personnel from the Armed Police Force Nepal and Nepal Police are continuously monitoring the river corridor areas.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung reached the areas around the CPN (UML) headquarters in Chyasal, Lalitpur, and got information from security personnel about the condition of the river and water flow.

Speaking briefly with the media during the observation, he said that the security personnel were deployed in the field with high vigilance. He mentioned that the government is seriously involved in identifying and responding to potential risks from monsoon-related disasters.

Most parts of the country are experiencing rainfall due to the effect of the low-pressure system developing in the Bay of Bengal.

Nepal Meteorological Department stated that most places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces have experienced heavy rain, and some places have had very heavy rain in the past 24 hours.
