Special Court orders to release ex-Speaker Mahara on bail

Kathmandu: The Special Court has ordered the release of former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Rs 100,000 bail.

A bench of judges Sudharshan Dev Bhatta and Bidur Koirala issued the order to release Mahara on bail.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against Mahara at the Special Court on the charge of gold smuggling amounting to Rs 77.8 million by evading tax.
