Contributions of Nepali Army significant in world peace: Army Chief Sigdel
Kathmandu: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Ashokraj Sigdel said today that the contribution of the Nepali Army in different countries across the world through UN peacekeeping missions by being based on the UN Charter, is significant for world peace.

Addressing a special ceremony at the Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre, Panchkhal, organised on the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, the CoAS recalled the historical contributions made by the Nepali Army for world peace.
The main goal of the Nepali Army is to establish peace, and the force was working relentlessly for the same purpose, according to CoAS Sigdel.
Stating that commitment to jobs, professionalism and integrity were the identities of the Nepali Army, CoAS Sigdel added that the fame earned by the Nepali Army at the global stage is a matter of pride for Nepal and Nepalis.
On the occasion, families of two fallen peacekeepers and five outstanding peacekeepers were recognised. Nepal stands as the leading UN troop-contributing nation with 4,179 peacekeepers deployed worldwide.
