Aspirations of Nepali origin people should be incorporated: Speaker

Kathmandu: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has shared that Nepal should incorporate the aspirations of Nepali-origin people uniquely and more broadly, no matter where they are living.

During a meeting with a delegation of the Association of Nepali Origin at his Office in Singha Durbar on Monday, the HoR Speaker pointed out the need to move ahead by making laws favourable to serve Nepal’s national interests and also by addressing the concerns of Nepali origin people.

Similarly, Vice-President of ANO and Senior Advocate Sushil Kumar Panta mentioned that the Association is active in creating an environment where the people of Nepali origin could be culturally connected with Nepal. He also demanded that the Speaker incorporate the suggestions of the Association on the draft of the Act related to Non-Resident Nepalis, which is now under discussion.

On the occasion, the delegation handed over a recommendation letter to the Speaker, demanding that some of the provisions in the draft of the Act, which are irrelevant and impractical.

The delegation also met Foreign Secretary Amrit Rai and submitted the recommendation letter.
