Court extends remand of Oli and Lekhak by five days
Kathmandu, April 5 — The Kathmandu District Court has granted a five-day extension to keep KP Sharma Oli and Ramesh Lekhak in custody for further investigation.
A bench led by Judge Jagat Bahadur Paudel approved the extension following a request from authorities, according to court registrar Tirtha Raj Bhattarai.
The extension will allow investigators to record statements and collect evidence related to the recommendations of a high-level inquiry commission formed to probe incidents linked to the Gen-Z Movement.
Oli and Lekhak were arrested on March 28 based on the commission’s findings. The probe was initiated by a high-level panel formed by the then-interim government to investigate the movement-related incidents.
