Government enforces new office hours from Monday
Kathmandu, April 5 — The government has announced revised office hours for public institutions, effective from Monday.
A decision by the Council of Ministers has set office timings from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for government offices, public institutions, and academic institutions starting April 6.
According to a notice published in the Nepal Gazette by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the new schedule will apply nationwide, with weekly holidays observed on Saturdays and Sundays.
The notice further states that office hours will be shortened during the winter period, from Kartik 16 to Magh 15, when offices will operate from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The move is aimed at standardizing working hours across institutions.
