Janak Education Materials Centre distributes over 300,000 textbooks in Sudurpaschim
Attariya (Kailali), April 5 — The Janak Education Materials Centre has distributed more than 301,000 school textbooks across Sudurpaschim Province in preparation for the upcoming academic session 2083 BS.
According to Nirmal Kumar Yadav, chief of the Centre’s provincial office in Dhangadhi, textbooks are being supplied through a network of book retailers in all nine districts of the province. The total value of books distributed so far exceeds Rs 37.4 million.
Textbooks have already been transported to remote hilly districts, including Bajura, Darchula, Achham, and Bajhang. The office aims to complete distribution across all districts by April 13.
Distribution began on March 30, with a target to supply over 1.65 million textbooks throughout the province for the new academic year. Officials say efforts are ongoing to ensure timely delivery, especially in remote areas, before schools reopen.
The new academic session is set to begin on Baisakh 15. Yadav said there is no shortage of textbooks and assured that all public schools will receive books on time.
The Centre, which provides textbooks for grades 3 to 12, had recorded the sale of 1,629,263 textbooks in Sudurpaschim during the current academic year, generating over Rs 219.3 million in revenue.
