Schools Closed for Three Days in Kanchanpur as Cold Wave Intensifies

Mahendranagar, Jan 6: Academic institutions in three local levels of Kanchanpur district have been closed for three days due to an intense cold wave affecting the region.

According to local authorities, all community and private schools in Laljhadhi Rural Municipality, Belauri Municipality and Beldadi Rural Municipality will remain shut from Monday to Wednesday to protect children from the adverse effects of extreme cold.

Normal life across the district has been disrupted as biting cold continues to prevail. Local governments have urged parents and guardians to keep children indoors and take necessary precautions to avoid health risks caused by the cold wave.

Laljhadhi Rural Municipality stated that the instructional days lost during the closure will be adjusted by shortening the winter vacation.

Meanwhile, the cold weather has also impacted daily activities in the district headquarters, with reduced human movement and sluggish market activities reported.
