Light Rain and Snowfall Likely in Some Parts of Nepal Today

Kathmandu, March 16 – The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted generally cloudy skies over Nepal’s hilly and mountainous regions today, with partly cloudy conditions in other areas.

There is a chance of moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Hilly regions in Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces may also experience moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, while a few places in other hilly areas and one or two locations in the Terai could see light rain.

The meteorological office noted that these conditions are influenced in part by a westerly low-pressure system affecting the country.
