Team Formed to Control Possible Forest Fires in Arghakhanchi
Arghakhanchi, March 16: The Division Forest Office in Arghakhanchi has launched a series of initiatives aimed at reducing the risk of forest fires, including community-level awareness programs and the formation of a dedicated firefighting team.
According to Information Officer Keshar Khadka, a 12-member task force has been formed under the leadership of the Division Forest Office to respond quickly to potential forest fires. The team has been equipped with fire extinguishers and mini brigade equipment to support fire control efforts.
Khadka stated that the task force will remain active until the end of May and will regularly monitor areas that are considered highly vulnerable to forest fires.
As part of its prevention efforts, the office also organised an interaction program involving local government representatives, security agencies, community forest user groups, and other stakeholders. The discussion focused on identifying the major causes of forest fires and exploring effective strategies to prevent and control them.
In addition, the Division Forest Office has introduced a new digital system designed to collect and share data and information related to forest fires across the district, aiming to strengthen monitoring and response mechanisms.
