Budget bolsters national economy: Finance Minister Paudel

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has expressed belief that the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 will help bolster the national economy.

The Finance Minister said it while responding to the queries raised during the general discussion on annual estimates of revenue and spending during the meeting of the National Assembly. Budget not only dreams but also dreams to realise the ambition, he argued.

He further asserted that the budget would set an example in terms of implementation. ‘Budget is brought in a way that will be actionable for its size, estimates and project proposals. I’ve resolved an effective budget,’ Paudel said, adding that the government has aimed at achieving 6 per cent economic growth and containing inflation at 5.5 percent by the end of the coming fiscal year.

According to the Finance Minister, the budget would establish a firm foundation for strengthening the national economy. The past projects would also be realised through the budget, he reminded.
