Landslides disrupt Araniko Highway

Chautara (Sindhupalchowk): Landslides in three different places at Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district have obstructed vehicular movement along the Araniko Highway.

Police Inspector Jagat Bahadur Rai said that vehicular movement was fully obstructed after the landslides at Kodari, Larcha and Koplang. Work is underway to clear the obstructions.

Likewise, the movement of goods-laden containers along the Tatopani checkpoint is also suspended after the road collapse.

Similarly, three houses suffered damage after the landslide triggered by torrential rainfall occurred at Liping bazaar in Bhotekoshi-2. Chief District Officer Kiran Thapa said the houses of locals Padam Shrestha, Phulmaya Tamang and Sunita Shrestha were damaged due to the landslides.
