NA sends Customs Bill for clause-wise discussion
Kathmandu: The meeting of the National Assembly on Thursday unanimously endorsed the proposal seeking transfer of the Customs Bill, 2080, to the legislation committee for clause-wise discussion.
The proposal was presented by Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel. Earlier, Chairperson of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Kamala Panta, presented the study report on Nepal’s efforts to graduate to a developing country from the LDC status, 2081.
The meeting today also passed a condolence motion on the demise of constituent assembly member Birendra Juharchan and former member of the House of Representatives, Dhundiraj Shastri.
Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, had presented the condolence motion, which was passed unanimously by the meeting. The NA meeting paid tributes to the departed ones and extended condolences to the bereaved family members. The next meeting of NA will be held next Monday.
Similarly, the meeting today of the House of Representatives passed a condolence resolution on the death of former minister and socialist thinker Dhundiraj Shastri. The resolution presented by Speaker Devraj Ghimire was unanimously passed.
Members of the House of Representatives observed a minute’s silence to pay their tributes to the late Shastri and extended deep condolences to bereaved family members. The House of Representatives will meet again tomorrow.
