Deputy Speaker Rana departs for South Africa

June 18, Kathmandu: Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar departed for South Africa on Wednesday morning for a four-day visit. She is attending a high-level dialogue on democracy in Pretoria, South Africa.

The event, organised by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), Open Society Foundation, and South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation, is scheduled for June 19-20.

Titled “Reimagining Democracy in Africa: Comparative Experiences from the Global South,” the dialogue aims to discuss key democratic issues. Deputy Speaker Rana is set to return to Nepal on June 22.
