Minister Khanal and Qatar’s Ambassador discuss celebrating 50th anniversary of bilateral relations

April 17, Kathmandu: Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal Mishal Mohammed Al Ansari paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal at the Ministry on Thursday.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on further strengthening Nepal–Qatar relations, particularly in areas of labour migration, hydropower, agriculture, tourism and investment promotion.

Minister Khanal appreciated Qatar’s continued role as a major labour destination for Nepali workers and highlighted the importance of ensuring their safety and welfare. He also underscored the need to expand investment and development cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed preparations to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Qatar.
