Foreign Minister Khanal, Saudi Ambassador discuss expanding cooperation

Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal held a courtesy meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Nepal, Fahd bin Minkhr, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation and collaboration. They also exchanged views on promoting Saudi investment in various sectors in Nepal.

According to the Saudi Embassy, the discussion focused on enhancing existing ties and exploring new areas of partnership between the two countries.

The meeting was also attended by First Secretary Abdulrahman bin Khalid Al-Ghoshom, who heads the Economic and Consular Affairs Section at the embassy.

Saudi Arabia remains one of the key destinations for Nepali migrant workers, with an estimated around 400,000 Nepalis currently working in the Kingdom. In the last fiscal year alone, over 77,000 Nepalis received new labour permits for Saudi Arabia, reflecting its continued importance as a foreign employment hub.
