Piloting of digital parliament platform begins

Kathmandu: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has launched the Digital Parliament Platform. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal and National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal jointly inaugurated the platform today.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Aryal remarked that the digital system is not a luxury but a necessity of the modern era. He explained that the initiative aims to consolidate various elements such as federal parliamentary activities, the status of bills, details of lawmakers, notices regarding meetings and committees, and records of Nepal’s parliamentary history onto a single digital platform.

National Assembly Chair Dahal emphasized the need to modernize the parliament with advancements in information technology, noting that the parliament serves as a strong foundation for democracy.

The platform launched by the Federal Parliament Secretariat will incorporate features ranging from tracking lawmakers’ attendance to collecting suggestions on bills.

It integrates the administrative, managerial, and legislative functions of the Federal Parliament into a digital system, covering twelve key areas designed to make parliamentary information, records, and activities organized, secure, and easily accessible.
