Finance Minister Dr Wagle going on a three-day visit to India

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle is leaving here for New Delhi, the Indian capital, on Thursday, leading a six-member delegation on a three-day visit to India.

Officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be part of the delegation visiting India at the friendly invitation of the Government of India, according to Dr Wagle’s secretariat.

The Ministry of Finance stated that the primary objective of the visit is to foster cooperation across various dimensions of economic, political, and diplomatic relations between the two countries, including post-disaster reconstruction.

During the visiting, Dr Wagley is scheduled to meet his Indian counterpart, Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, on Friday.

On the same day, he will participate as the chief guest in a high-level diplomatic dialogue program hosted by former Indian Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran. Also on Friday, Finance Minister Dr Wagle will attend a major interaction program organized by Javed Ashraf, Chair of the India Trade Promotion Organisation.

On Saturday morning, the Finance Minister will participate as a keynote speaker in a conference with prominent industrial houses, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries.

Later in the afternoon, he will attend, as the chief guest, an academic discussion on development economics organized by the Delhi School of Economics. The Finance Minister is scheduled to return home on Saturday evening.
