Sudurpaschim Mahotsav Kicks Off in Dhangadhi

Kailali, Dec 9: The 19th Sudurpaschim Mahotsav has officially commenced in Dhangadhi, aiming to boost tourism and economic activities across the province. The festival, inaugurated on Monday, is being organized by the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the theme “Tourism, Culture, Industry and Trade: Basis for Prosperous Sudurpaschim.”

According to Chamber Chair Pushkar Raj Ojha, the annual fair plays a key role in promoting tourism, agriculture, industry, trade, culture, and arts in the province—an area he says holds significant potential for development.

Organizers expect the event to generate business transactions worth around Rs 150 million. This year’s Mahotsav features around 500 stalls showcasing agricultural products, medicinal herbs, handicrafts, furniture, automobiles, garments, electronics, hospitality services, and information technology.

The festival will run until December 17.
