Gorkha Microbus Accident: Death Toll Rises to Seven, Eight Injured
Gorkha, March 14: The death toll from a microbus accident in Gorkha District has risen to seven, while eight others sustained injuries, according to police.
The accident occurred on Friday evening when a microbus veered off the road and plunged nearly 200 meters at Kantar in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality.
The vehicle, bearing registration number Ba Pra 01-006 Kha 8430, was carrying passengers returning after offering prayers at the renowned Manakamana Temple.
According to Bharat Bahadur BK, chief of the District Police Office Gorkha, seven people—five men and two women—lost their lives at the scene of the accident.
Police said the eight injured passengers were immediately rescued and taken to Aanbukhaireni Hospital in Tanahun District for treatment. Authorities are continuing further investigation into the incident.
