Israeli ambassador pays courtesy call on Minister Dr Timilsina

Kathmandu, July 31: Israeli ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik Arie Bass, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Bikram Timilsina on Friday.

The matters discussed during the meeting held at the Ministry includes Nepal-Israel friendly relations, mutual interests and expansion of potential cooperation in the areas of information technology, digital transformation, telecommunications, agriculture, education and human resources development

The ambassador said the friendly relations existing between Nepal and Israel since 1960 continues further, expressing the commitments of Israel to expanding cooperation with Nepal in the sectors of information technology, digital innovation and agricultural modernization.

Minister Dr Timilsina briefed the ambassador that promoting good governance and ensuring effective service delivery through the integration of information and communications technology are among Nepal’s top priorities. He expressed the view that Nepal could benefit from Israel’s experiences, best practices and innovations in digital infrastructure development and telecommunications technology.

He also utilized the meeting to urge the government of Israel to increase training, study and vocational experience opportunities in the areas of IT and innovations for Nepali youths. The two exchanged views on further strengthening mutual cooperation in IT development, digital transformations and multi-sectoral forums, according to the Ministry source.
