On Air Station:

NOC says cooking gas supply regular, no shortage

Kathmandu: The Nepal Oil Corporation says there is no shortage of cooking gas and that supplies are being maintained according to demand.

The corporation has begun selling 14.2-kilogram LPG cylinders from five gas companies at its Teku office in Kathmandu from today. Customers can buy cylinders from Nepal Gas, HP, Everest, Sugam, and Shriram Gas between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

NOC spokesperson Manoj Thakur said the recent disruption was caused by the transition from 7.1-kilogram to 14.2-kilogram cylinders, not by a shortage of gas.

Despite the corporation’s assurance, consumers in Kathmandu Valley and other parts of the country have reported difficulties in obtaining cooking gas.
