Sudurpaschim govt calls for social harmony, religious tolerance

Sudurpaschim, Aug 1: The Sudurpaschim Province Government has appealed to one and all to maintain social harmony, religious tolerance and peace in the wake of adverse situation following the Kaptangunj incident in Sunsari.

In an appeal issued on Saturday, Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah urged everyone to celebrate social, cultural and religious festivals in a decent and responsible way, adding that “Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multilingual and multi-religious country.”

The province government also urged the public to refrain from posting or sharing misleading content and hate speech on social sites. “Such content could fuel hostility and disrupt social harmony,” it warns.

Paying tributes to those who lost their lives during the confrontations in Sunsari and other districts, he extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured ones.
