Chief Justice administers oath to Chief Election Commissioner

Kathmandu: Chief Justice Dr Manoj Sharma administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner Man Bahadur Karki.

Chief Justice Dr Sharma administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Chief Election Commissioner Karki at a ceremony at the apex court today.

After taking the oath from the Chief Justice, Chief Election Commissioner Karki subsequently administered the oath to commissioners Guru Prasad Wagle and Dr Rajib Subba.

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee had unanimously endorsed Karki’s name as Chief Election Commissioner on Wednesday.

It may be noted that President Ramchandra Paudel appointed the Chief Election Commissioner and Commissioners on the recommendation of the Constitutional Council and the Committee’s endorsement earlier today.
