Finance Minister Wagle urges Nepali diaspora to invest in Nepal

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has urged the Nepali diaspora to invest in Nepal to support the country’s development and economic prosperity.

Speaking during a virtual interaction with young Nepali entrepreneurs in Australia, Minister Wagle encouraged them to remain connected to their homeland, highlighting the government’s “Once a Nepali, Always a Nepali” vision.

The Finance Minister noted that the government has introduced tax and revenue reforms, along with investment-friendly industrial policies, to create a more conducive business environment.

He also assured potential investors that they would be able to repatriate returns with ease. He said initiatives such as the Non-Resident Nepali Bond, Offshore Bond, and alternative financing mechanisms have been introduced to encourage greater investment from the Nepali diaspora.
