UAE president Al Nahyan says country ‘no easy prey’, vows protection for citizens and residents

Kathmandu: Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the United Arab Emirates will emerge stronger from the ongoing war and vowed the country will continue to protect all citizens and residents.

In remarks during a visit to a hospital to check on those injured in the recent attacks, the UAE president said five civilians wounded in the incident were receiving treatment.

“They are all our responsibility, and, God willing, they will make a full recovery,” Sheikh Mohamed said.

According to him, the injured include two Emirati nationals and three expatriates — an Indian, a Sudanese and an Iranian.

The president said the situation in the UAE remains stable, praising the armed forces and security institutions for their role during the conflict.

He also thanked the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, security services and Civil Defence for their efforts in safeguarding the country.

Sheikh Mohamed also commended Emirati citizens for what he described as their sense of duty and unity during the crisis.

He extended appreciation to expatriate residents, describing them as “our guests and extended family,” and acknowledged their support and solidarity.

Addressing adversaries of the UAE, the president warned against underestimating the country.

“The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh — we are no easy prey,” he said, adding that the leadership will fulfil its duty to protect the nation, its people and everyone living in it.

“We will emerge stronger than before,” Sheikh Mohamed said.
