21 Days Left for HoR Elections: EC Finalizes Civic Education Materials

Kathmandu, Feb 12: With just 21 days remaining for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections scheduled for March 5, the Election Commission (EC) has prepared resource materials to promote civic education among voters.

The materials cover key topics such as democracy, fair and inclusive elections, the voters’ name list, voting procedures, and the importance of exercising the right to vote. They also include information on constitutional provisions related to elections and the role of political parties in the democratic process.

According to the EC, the resource materials have been developed to support concerned authorities, institutions, and individuals in conducting civic education programmes effectively.

Assistant Spokesperson of the EC, Kul Bahadur GC, said that stakeholders can utilise these materials to raise awareness and encourage informed participation in the upcoming polls.

Meanwhile, the Commission is set to intensify voter education activities starting February 13 as part of its preparations for the March 5 elections.
