Four killed due to mound collapse in Sarlahi
October 1, Kathmandu: Four people died after being buried when a mound of earth collapsed at Haripuwa in Sarlahi district this morning.
The deceased have been identified as Sayada Khatun, 65, six-year-old Sabiba Khatun, eight-year-old Dillu Mansur and nine-year-old Nargis Khatun of Sonama rural municipality-6 in Mahottari district, according to Assistant Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Balinthar Singh.
The incident took place when they had gone to the bank of Hardi stream at Haripuwa municipality-1 to extract ochre soil for using it to paint the houses and daub floors during the festivities.
Locals had rescued them immediately after the incident and rushed them to Provincial Hospital, Malangawa, where the doctors declared them dead, added Singh.
