Private sector is backbone of development: CM Baniya

Hetauda, Aug 6: Newly-elected Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, has said he would accord high priority to the private sector, transportation, and marginalised and poor communities during his tenure.

At a program organized by Narayani Transport Entrepreneurs Association here on Wednesday, Chief Minister Baniya expressed the commitment to work for the improvement of the transport sector. CM Baniya is the advisor to the Association.

He opined that initiatives would be taken to carry out maintenance of the national highways, which are in dilapidated condition, in coordination with the federal government. The Chief Minister also stressed the need to complete the Pathalaiya-Hetauda-Narayangadh road expansion task, adding private sector is the backbone of development in a democracy.

On the occasion, Association Chairperson Hira Lal Shrestha briefed Chief Minister Baniya about the problems of the transport sector.
