Government making efforts to formulate policies to protect cultural and religious diversity: Koshi Province Chief Minister
Biratnagar: Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki emphasized the importance of uniting all castes, languages, religions, and cultures to strengthen the country.
Speaking at an interaction organized by Nepal Radio at the Tarini Prasad Koirala Memorial Media Village, Biratnagar today, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to formulate policies to protect the region’s cultural and religious diversity.
Chief Minister Karki also expressed the province’s commitment to making Maithili and Limbu official languages.
Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the Province, Revati Raman Bhandari, expressed the provincial government’s readiness to collaborate with PSB Nepal to preserve local languages and cultures.
PSB Nepal’s Executive Chairperson, Dr. Mahendra Bista, said PSB Nepal would produce programs that reflect the voices of all ethnic groups to strengthen national unity.
At the program, Dr. Bhumiraj Chapagain, a member of the Board of Directors of Public Broadcasting Service Nepal, emphasized that promoting culture should begin at home.
Earlier, a meeting of the PSB Nepal Board of Directors was held at the Tarini Prasad Koirala Memorial Media Village in Biratnagar.
During the meeting, PSB Nepal Chairperson Dr. Bista highlighted the historical significance of the media village and stressed that its building and structure should be utilized to serve multiple purposes.
